INCREASING EFECTIVITY OF SILIKA (SiO2) DEFOAMER BY COATED ON HDPE (HIGH DENSITY POLYETHYLENE)
A silica-HDPE defoamer, i.e. silica (SiO2) coated on HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) grains, was fabricated at a temperature an the range of 70-100 oC. The diameter of silica was 18 nm as analyzed by using XRD (X-ray Diffraction) while the average weight of silica on HDPE was 50.51 mass % as determ...

In 35.6% detergent concentration, silica that wasn't coated on HDPE grains remained 40-86% foam, while silica that coated on HDPE grains remained 0-50%. The highest increasing effectivity was reached by silica 0.02% in foam. After it has been used as defoamer, 0.27% silica was dispersed in the solution. This was confirmed by absorbance analysis result of UV-VIS (Ultraviolet-Visible) measurement. <br /> text |
