The used of band 1, 3, and 4 of MODIS imagery sensor's with 500 m resolution has selected based on chlorophyll-a optical characteristic. Compared by the insitu chlorophyll-a concentration, the number of reflectance which is selected from the combination of band 1 devided by summary of band 1, 3, 4, gives the better correlation among others. Next, the correlation between reflectance and insitu chlorophyll-a concentration are used as the model to determine chlorophyll-a concentration. The project was applied in Jakarta Bay natural waters, then it gave 2 results: an algoritma to determine clorophyll-a concentration and a map pattern of chlorophyll-a concentration in several days in every month in year of 2004. From the pattern results, in months of west moonson (December, January, February) the pattern of chlorophyll-a concentration shows an uniform pattern in the whole object area with concentation varies from 0.5-7.5 mg/m3. Mean while in west-east moonson (March, April, May), the pattern of chlorophyll-a concentration shows higher number in east side of Jakarta bay in early moonsoon, influenced by the wind direction which flies to the east, while in the end of the season the wind influence decreases. In this season chlorophyll-a concentration varies from 1.5-7.5 mg/m3. During east moonson (Juni, Juli, Agustus), the pattern shows higher concentration along the coastal area in Jakarta Bay with small distribution to the offshore, and moves to the east as the wind and current flies in the same direction. the concentration varies from 0.25-10 mg/m3. In east-west moonson (September, October, November) the concentration pattern is much more influenced by the light intensity, and its direction distibution generally higher than the east moonson with concentration varies from 0.25-7.5 mg/m3. text |
