Description
Summary:EDLC devices based on nanoporous carbon electrodes and polymer electrolyte membranes were fabricated successfully. Nanoporous carbon were produced from a carbonized coconut shell and activated at temperature 600oC for 1 hour by using a simple heating method. Activation process was done by template technique using PEG, PVA and silica. Nanoporous carbon electrodes then were assembled to PVA membranes and PVA electrolyte membranes. PVA membranes were synthesis using solution casting method, even though electrolyte membranes were using wet immerse method. The best performance of EDLC devices were resulted from PEG activated nanoporous carbon with porosity 30% and LiOH electrolyte membranes with capacitance 66 pF.
