| Summary: | This thesis describes the things that have been made in the design and implementation of the personal computer based speed measuring device of runner athlete using accelerometer that have a main function for: measurement, visualization and recording of the variable speed and acceleration of runner athletes. This system also can store a variable acceleration and speed in the computer memory for a number of athletes data. Monitoring the acceleration and speed runner athlete aims for the development of the athlete and the ability to determine the optimal volume of training for each athlete. Therefore, the purpose of this thesis is to develop the prototype speed measuring device of runner athlete in the hope that the tool will have criteria of mobile, compact, and low cost equipment so that it can help development in the field of sports in Indonesia. <br />
