Description
Summary:Moraceae is one of family of plant having main genus, i.e. Artocarpus. Up to now, there are 17 species which were examined for their chemical compounds and a number of compounds showed activities as antitumor and antimalarial. One of the species which has not been investigated yet is A. vrieseanus growing at Sulawesi forest which is a part of Wallace area. The uniqueness of the source of this species gives the possibility to obtain compounds having different structure compared to compounds isolated previously from other species of Artocarpus. In this research, the phytochemical study of root wood of A. vrieseanus was conducted by using separation and purification techniques including maceration and several of chromatography techniques as vacuum liquid, column chromatography, and radial chromatography. The purity of the isolated compounds was detected by thin liquid chromatography technique using three different eluents.
