Description
Summary:In this research, microcapsule material has been developed by encapsulating a-Nitroso-B-Naftol inside Ca-alginate. This microcapsule is expected to have a metal ion Cu2+ retention property through the making of a-Nitroso-B-Naftol complex. Various considerations that influence both the capsule making and the retention properties have been studied. Capsule which has a good spherical shape is acquired by using Na-alginate and CaCl2 with 1:1.5 ratio. The microcapsule which has been made have a 1.28 mg Cu2+/g retention capacity in pH 7 with 20 minutes minimum contact time. This microcapsule has been tested to fill minicolumn for developing preconcentration method based on flow injection analysis (FIA). <br />
