Description
Summary:The purpose of this final project is to identify sand cover and tidal zone from SPOT (Satellite Pour l'Observation de la Terre) image. The study is located in Semak Daun Island, Kepulauan Seribu, Java Sea. This island is surrounded by 12 km2 reef platform. The methodology of this study began with identifying sand cover based on radiometric record from SPOT image with supervised classification. The classification result of sand cover is analyzed using underwater inspection data identified as sand in research site. Verification is conducted by matching underwater inspection (28 stations) into area resulted from sand cover identification. The percentage of compatibility of the sand cover identification is 70%. This study also intends to investigate the depth of sand cover distribution resulting from bathymetry data and image satellite to identify tidal zones (supratidal, intertidal, and subtidal). Supratidal area cover 4.83×106 hectare and intertidal area cover 4.9×106 hectare. The results of sand cover identification and tidal zones are matched to contour for investigate the depth contribution on the site. The depth of sand cover is from -0.1 to 24.6 m with typical distribution of between -0.1 to 3.7 m depth.
