Summary: | In collaborative manufacturing concept, vendor and buyer work in a cooperative manner to synchronize supply with the actual costumer demand rate and production rate. Lot sizing technique is a common technique that often used in production scheduling. The vendor manufactures the requested products in lot, also known as production lot, and then streamed into sublots in order to decrease inventory rate by considering inventory cost and transportation cost. This vendorbuyer collaboration and integration is called Joint Economic Lot sizing Problem (JELP).
This research is developing lot sizing mechanism which is focusing on coordination of optimal lot size and amount of delivery performed by supplier and also the effect of lot sizing to the manufacturer as the main company in the network. This model includes three elements in supply chain network, such as supplier who produces components, manufacturer who produces final product by assemblying components from supplier, and distributor. This model is compared to non-JELP model and Dama (2008) model. The results shows that this research model has giving better results than two comparing models. The sensitivity anaysis shows that the output of this model (sublot size for component and final product) is more sensitive to cost parameter rather than time parameter.
