MICROWAVE ASSISTED ORGANIC SYNTHESIS (MAOS) METHOD IN THE SYNTHESIS OF ASPIRIN DERIVATIVE COMPOUNDS
The synthesis of compound plays important role in the development and application of chemistry in improving the quality of human life and to overcome various problems that support the growth of human civilization. Several of synthesis methods have been developed, from the simple one (conventional me...

Several of synthesis methods have been developed, from the simple one (conventional method) until the recent methods using more advanced equipments, in order to synthesis the chemical compounds that having better quality, as well as more effective and efficient methods, especially from the point of view of chemical yields of product and reaction time. The Microwave Assisted Organic Chemistry (MAOS) method is one solution in achieving those targets. Aspirin is a well known compound that used widely in medicine as the analgesic substances and antipyretics and also to help in the prevention of stroke and heart disparity, although it is quite sensitive to stomach because of its acidity characteristic. Many researchers have proven that the microwave method can be applied for synthesizing chemical compounds with quite amazing result that more effective and efficient results with higher chemical yields and shorter reaction time than the conventional method. In this research the derivative compounds of aspirin have been synthesized, which are methyl aspirin and ethyl aspirin, amide aspirin (2-carbamoylphenyl acetate) and urea aspirin (2-(ureidocarbonyl)phenyl acetate) utilized both of the conventional and microwave method. text |
