Determination of Adsorption Capacity of Methylene Blue Dyes by Rice Husk Charcoal

Water pollution is one of major problem that we often meet in our daily life. One of water reluctant is dye substances, especially dumped dye substance from textile industry. One of water reluctant is dye substances, especially dumped dye substance from textile industry. Many ways can be done to solve this kind of problem, one of them is through adsorben zeolite and active charcoal. In this experiment, the use of active charcoal from rice husk for extracting metilen blue dye can be used as adsorben. The charcoal were produced by by drowning rice husk charcoal in H2SO4 2M. This experiment was conducted to determine maximum adsorption condition dye essence of active rice husk charcoal and to compare it with normal rice husk charcoal. The optimal time contact of rice husk charcoal and metilen blue was ini nine hours drowning. Adsorption capacity of metilen blue bye active rice husk charcoal was 3,20 mg/g charcoal, while adsorption capacity by natural rice husk charcoal is 1,10 mg/g charcoal. text
