STUDY TO BEARING CAPACITY OF MULTIPLATES FOUNDATION ON SOFT SOIL IN FIELD . Basuki Ampera, 25092011, Geotechnic Departement, Post Graduate Faculty, Institute of Technology Bandung . Multiplates Foundation is one of shallow foundation that the contact area are increased . As another foundation , this plate is used to bearing load from/at soft soil surface . This thesis presents results of axial sttaic loading test to single plate foundations/multiplates foundations in South of Sumatera . ASTM D1143-81 used as procedure this load testing . Multiplates Foundations used for this testing are variation about depth of plates, numbers of plates an dispaching of plates . Diameter of plates is 200 mm . Soil investigation in situ is done before loading testing by Cone Dutch Penetrometer Testing (Sondir), Hand Boring an d Vane Shear and samples testing at laboratory . Results of loading testing is relationship about load and settlements, these datas are plotted in logaritmic scala and normal scala . The datas are analysed by Terzaghis Formula . Deeper, more plates increase bearing capacity . In this tesis also is made a new formula for single plate foundation bearing capacity and multi plates foundation bearing capacity .
