APPLICATION OF INTERNET AND SMS-BASED TELEMEDICINE SYSTEM FOR SAFE MOTHERHOOD PROGRAM

In this thesis, SMS and web-based telemedicine system applications have been designed and implemented for the above mentioned objectives. The system consists of the main application on web server with PHP and MySQL, and SMS server using a PC that connected to one or more mobile phones with Gammu, curl or wget, PHP and MySQL. Functionally the applications are divided in two parts which are SMSbased system and web-based system. The SMS-based system has been designed for the clients communicates toward main application via SMS, and have four feature such as: the coordinator registration processes service, the Posyandu cadre registration process, the registration verification, the receipt of the Posyandu cadre report activities and requesting the information that being sent by cadre. Posyandu report activities are divided into seven category such as: a report of under-five weighing; pregnant women reports, breastfeeding mothers report, the report of exclusive breastfeeding, under-five nutrition status reports, under-five reports with URL (under the red line, which is an indicator for malnutrition of under-five), the reports of vitamin A and reports of 'oralit'. Registration, verification, reporting and requesting processes are sent through SMS and use a certain format with the appropriate keyword. The Web-based system has been designed for the clients communicate toward main application via the web by visiting the website with main menu such as: login, user administration, coordinator administration, Posyandu administration, Posyandu page report, and scheduled / unscheduled SMS transmission.
