| Summary: | Bioavailability of 400 mg dose of ibuprofen of inovator tablet and suppositories made with hydrophilic and hydrophobic base on 6 healthy volunteers according to a three way cross-over design has been studied. Blood samples were collected 5 minutes before and from 0,25 hours up to 9,5 hours after the drug administration. Plasma consentrations were assayed by thin layer chromatography spectrophotodensitometry using internal standard after extraction. It was found that the bioavailability of hydrophilic suppository was comparable to tablet with a relative absorption efficiency of 115,93%, while hydrophobic suppository had a relatively lower bioavailability with a relative absorption efficiency of 45, 0%. |
