Freespanning Analysis for Subsea Pipeline

Subsea Pipeline is a transportation unit that is used to transmit fluid from a platform to land or the other platform. One of main aspects in offshore pipe design is span analysis. Span is unsupported section of pipe. Freespan must be kept in allowable limit in order to prevent failures such as crac...

The results from analysis are 19 m (in-line span for DNV criteria), 24,4 m (cross-flow span for DNV criteria), 37,8 m (in-line span for Guo criteria), 66,1 m (cross-flow span for Guo criteria), 59 m (nonlinear span for yield point criteria), 69 m (nonlinear span for 2% strain criteria), and 75 m (nonlinear span for 5% strain criteria).<p>There are 17 freespans exceed critical limit of in-line span for DNV criteria, 8 freespans exceed critical limit of cross-flow span for DNV criteria, and 1 freespan exceed critical limit of in-line span for Guo criteria. There is no freespan exceed critical limit of cross-flow span for Guo and nonlinear span. text
