Summary:ABSTRACT: <br /> <br /> <br /> Tight competion at construction industrial demands practitioners to always do innovations and adapting with change. This conditon is obvious very contras with efficiency problem in construction industrial world. Waste that happened at construction industrial achieves 57%, this matter is very differs from that happened at manufacturing industrial. Justification that construction project is unique and dynamic, that can not made correction, because although construction project character are unique, but the process are repetitive. Simulation is solution to overcome efficiency problem in repetitive construction operation. <br /> <br /> <br /> This research aims are to detect the description of level of utilization simulation technique for repetitive construction operation and problems that causes it. Method that done in this research is use survey approached to construction practitioner at big contractor companies at Jakarta and Bandung. The result shows level of utilization simulation technique for repetitive construction operation is low but potential to be increased. Big contractor companies in Indonesia had been cognizance to use simulation technique in planning and evaluating in repetitive construction operation, but level of importanceness not too high if compare with simulation technique application for the purpose of general. <br /> <br /> <br /> The problems that faced practitioners is lack of skilled human resource to have done simulation and build a construction operation model at field into simulation language and the availability of data upon which input in simulation system. Besides, Indonesian contractors still lack of awareness and ability to implement the principles and techniques of micro principles of lean construction, i.e., reduction of cycle time and variabilitiy in construction operation, so that predicted to join in to causes to decrease simulation technique for repetitif construction operation. <br /> <br /> <br /> The result of this research shows that maked possible to increase utilization simulation technique for repetitive construction operation in Indonesia with develop simulation technique, that had general requirments computer spesification and can used easily by the users (users friendly). This matter is supported with research result that show spreadsheet is the most tools that used by practitioners to do simulations techniques and other work activity. Thereby study to increase thev utilization of simulation technique for repetitive construction operation with develop spreadsheet can then done.
