Project controlling, a one of the project management functions, plays an important role in the achievement of the project objective and goal. It covers some areas such as quality control, schedule control, and cost control. During this phase, measurement and monitoring are conducted to evaluate the result. The next step is to evaluate and compare the result with the plan to see if there is a deviation on site.<p>In the course of executing the Istana Plaza Mall project, PT. X, as the main contractor, faces some problems in the project controlling. If these problems are not solved immediately, these will cause a deviation of the project objective and goal. The problems faced by PT. X such as substandard quality, project behind schedule, many accidents, and project cost overrun.<p>To solve the problems during the execution of the project, it is needed to identify, analyze to search alternatives of the course of action, and to decide the priority of the course of action chosen to solve the problems. The next step is to implement the priorities of the course of action toward organization, manpower resources, and environment. It is expected that the project objective and goal will be achieved more effectively and efficiently.
