Summary: | PT. PQR is a company that produces the electricity equipments such as Ballast, Transformer and Energy Saving Lamp. Currently the company wants to reduce several defects which occurred in the production process, one of those efforts is by reducing the percentage target for defect products to 0.3% for each defect.<p>Based on observations, in the process X production, the amount of defect product is relatively high, especially at the winding process which has the biggest percentage of defects. The occurrence of those defects will create losses for the company in terms of time, cost, raw materials and manpower. Therefore, the company wants to improve the production process for the X products to fulfill the target which has been set by the company.<p>To help the company, controlling tools Six Sigma is developed to overcome the problem. Six Sigma consists of several phases, which are Define-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control (DMAIC). In these phases, several tools are used such as the Pareto diagram, Control chart, The Interrelationship Diagraph, FMEA (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis), the Calculation of the process capacity (Cp and Cpk) and the calculation of the sigma level. Based on the diagram and the calculation, the current performance of the company could be known. The current Sigma level of the company is 4.704.<p>Several improvements proposed to be implemented by the company include the routine check towards the roll of wire by the operator 2, replacing the cap of main wire's roll with transparent plastic, developing a more specific rotation, which can make the rotation of the employee will be more well arranged, adding tension meter as a supporting tool to control the tension size that was experienced by the wire, providing the caution board that will be used as the guide for the operator on duty, and providing several tools to reduced the environmental effects toward the operator by using ventilators and earplug to reduced noise at work environment.<p>The proposed implementation plan is divided into short-term implementation (routine activities) and long-term implementation <br />
