| Summary: | In order to support the petroleum and gas industrial activity which is performed by the Pertamina, the transportation and distribution of petroleum and gas by the sea to all over the Republic- of Indonesia is to be secured, fluent and efficient and a good communication and electronic system service is needed. For that reason, we need tracking system of the tankers and the integrated harbor management system which could be increased the efficiency of the transportation and distribution of petroleum and gas. In this study, the sophisticated technology of information and communication system that consists of global positioning system, geographical information system and communication system of high frequency channel is chosen.<p>Through these systems, the Pertamina could perform operational planning and control of the tankers automatically and of the real time by using the computers. The system equipment consists of global positioning system, transmitter, receiver, monitoring system and communication system. The monitoring system is used to depict the position of the tankers in the real time in the computer by using digital navigation map, to analyze the tanker routes and the tanker utilization and to communicate with the tankers. The other advantages of the monitoring system are to facilitate data searching by using geographical information system data base, to make the reports, to know the performance of each tanker, to control the tanker utilization, the available of good filing system and the completed data to be more secured. The monitoring system consists of central processing unit to process and analyze data, software and communication facility. |
