IDENTIFICATION OF BANDARHARJO COMMUNITY PERCEPTION ON THEIR LIVING ENVIRONMENT

<p align="justify">This research take Bandarharjo as case study where one of spontaneous settlement in Semarang. Most dweller in this area are migrants that work as industrial workers and fisherman. Besides slum, Bandarharjo doesn't sustain as settlement area because there is environmental degradation. But, the community still hold out in Bandarharjo.<p align="justify"><p>The aim of this research are to identify community perception about occupy pattern condition and community character also factors that push community hold out in Bandarharjo. This factors observed of economic variables like income, occupation, work assurance, and cultural-social variables (education, social community relationship and time of settle period) that analyze with factor analysis.<p align="justify"><p>The analysis show community perception that feel comfort live in Bandarharjo because of income limitation and close social community relationship. Besides, home status is own and they have already live in Bandarharjo for long time period, that make them feel accusetomad with environment condition.<p align="justify"><p>The research finding show that community hold out in Bandarharjo because economic dependency. They hold out because job reason. In the other hand they have minimun income make community difficult to prepare proper occupied house. This situation decayed with land status that state property make community hard to sale their house. House physics value didn't equal with external location value. This reason make community hold out. This situation reinforcement with social community relationship that close. It make hold out solidarity stronger. This situation indicate programme that should government do is resettlement that suits with community character.
