| Summary: | The objective of this study is grow and develop the community empowering in a frame of the tourist development in the area of Kepulauan Seribu through an evaluation of governmental interaction process, the owner/manager of the tourist island, supporters (tourists) and the local people as well as influential factors in the interaction process.<p>The analysis of interaction process uses the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP ) with a focus on the potencies of tourists and principles of community empowering, including the attempts to create a conducive climate, increasing the opportunities and protection as well as increasing the community potential/power.<p>The result of research indicated that the area of Kepulauan Seribu has a sufficient potential for the tourist development but on the other hand, the local community involvement is still small. The result of analysis concluded that the priority for developing the tourism is physical development, whereas for the community empowering is to create a conducive climate.<p>For the physical development, the priority attempts that necessarily conducted are the development of utility network, the improvement of transportation means and infrastructures, the development of tourist objects and interested potentials as well as the development of facilities and accommodations, whereas in order to create a conducive climate the attempts that need to be required are the creativity of safety and ordered atmosphere, the availability of sufficient means and infrastructures, the development of rural institutions, the social involvement in the decision making and also environmental conservations.<p>In a frame of supporting the attempts, it is recommended in order that there is a good coordination among related institutions, to facilitate the growth of social self-service institutions (LSM) as a companying workers and establishing an educational facility for the academic level in the field of tourism or marine as well. |
