Currently, capital strategies for the organization have experienced the paradigm
shift, where the capital strategy the organization is not only the resources which
are tangible, such as, financial, building, land, technology and other assets, but the
strategies that are existent intangible such as knowledge . Knowledge capital has
become an important strategy for the organization to achieve organizational
excellence.
The consequences of the inclusion of capital as one of the strategies for the
organization that need a reliable management that is capable of managing the
knowledge capital in order to become a reliable strategy. Knowledge management
was introduced as a management which aims to manage knowledge. Basic idea of
KM is to colaborate or accumulate knowledge, tacit knowledge with explicit
knowledge so that the organization can create new knowledge or innovation.
Innovation in this case is not only a product innovation but also to business
process innovation and other innovations.
This thesis is intended to answer questions such as research factors are influential
in knowledge management, knowledge management architecture and the steps
needed to implementation knowledge management in organizations. Methods
used to study literature to find what factors are affecting knowledge management, the factors will be used as basic components as the basis for developing
knowledge management architecture. Meanwhile, to determine the steps the
application of knowledge management, made the analogy between the concept of
information systems with the concept of knowledge management. If the analogy
of the results found that the results of knowledge management can analogue with
the information system, then the next step is to identify steps what is needed to
implement a knowledge management based on steps of information system
development. This thesis ends with the process of doing a case study that aims to
implemented knowledge management architecture and the implementation of the
steps that have been proposed previously.
Results from the case study states, to build a knowledge management involves 4
main components, namely people, process knowledge management, learning
organization and information technology. In building knowledge management
organizations need to implement the knowledge management process
systematically. Knowledge management relates closely with the organization's
culture as a stimulation to give motivation to the members of its organization to
improve competence and want to share knowledge, because of that reason,
organization members need to be supported with the discipline of learning
organization refers to a member organization would increase the interest and want
to share knowledge. With the purpose to facilitate the implementation process of
knowledge management, information technology is used, so that the
implementation of knowledge management process will become easier, effective
and efficient. |
