Analysis of Non Ionic Surfactant Concentration and Temperature Effect on Surfactant and Oil Flow Time in Various Capillary Pipe Sizes (Laboratory Study)
Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) is a method to improve oil recovery that conducted by improving displacement efficiency and volumetric sweep efficiency. Surfactant injection is an EOR method which could decreasing interfacial tension between oil and reservoir formation water. Therefore the oil saturatio...

Surfactant injection is an EOR method which could decreasing interfacial tension between oil and reservoir formation water. Therefore the oil saturation which still trapped in reservoir (Sor) can be decreased. In capillary pores rock system there are several physical properties which come from both of the rock itself and flowing fluids which can give influence to fluids flow in reservoir. These physical properties are capillary pressure, wettability, interfacial tension, and viscosity of flowing fluids. These physical properties are influenced by temperature change, pores size, and flowing fluids in the system. These physical properties change can be detected from any change of flow time of flowing fluids in the system. The basis of this study is to analyze the effect of surfactant concentration and temperatur change to the flow time of surfactant and oil in capillary pipe. This capillary pipe is assumed represent the real condition in porous reservoir rock. Thus, this study hopefully could represent the flow behaviour of oil and surfactant in porous reservoir rock. text |
