Description
Summary:Live-streaming services of IPTV require multicast network transmission model. So that, the network which is used must have multicast routing capability. In this final project, multicast routing is implemented on IPTV network. Multicast routing protocol that will be used is PIM-SM. Network testing will be used 13 scenario to observe four effect of network parameter changing, they are the effect of film quality improvement, the effect of multicast stream addition, the effect of multicast client addition, and the effect of multicast router addition. Data which are used for analysis, they are packet capture results on client and QoS of network parameters such as delay, jitter, and packet drop. Thus, the network capacity will be obtained for each scenario. Based on the analysis of tested data, IPTV multicast network that was built, able to receive traffic load up to 100 Mbps for VCD quality, 65 Mbps for DVD-1 quality, and 28 Mbps for DVD-2 quality. IPTV multicast network that was built, able to receive traffic load up to 55 Mbps for one streaming, 49 Mbps for two streaming, and 53 Mbps for three streaming. IPTV multicast network that was built, able to receive traffic load up to 55 Mbps for one multicast client, 44 Mbps for two multicast client, and 35 Mbps for three multicast client. IPTV multicast network that was built, able to receive traffic load up to 55 Mbps for direct connection, via two multicast router connection, and via three multicast router connection, and 65 Mbps for via one multicast router connection. Thus, increment number of multicast streams and client are factors that must be considered in planning IPTV network capacity. While, addition number of router not affect IPTV network capacity.
