Summary: | Many methods have been developed to increase oil recovery factor and several of them are very suitable for reservoir with oil wet characteristic. One method that is very popular among the petroleum industry practician to have such an effect is surfactant injection. Surfactant can improve the recovery of oil wet reservoir because it changes the wettability and besides it can reduces capilary pressure and interfacial tension. This work is conducted with the utilization of commercial simulator to generate a reservoir model with five-spot pattern of injection. The model has one injection well and four production wells with the presence of channeling on one of the production well. Therefore, this simulation is implemented to study the performance of surfactant when injected in channeling reservoir. |
