The research area is divided into five unofficial lithological units from the oldest to the youngest in age, which are Sandstone-Claystone Unit that equal with Tapak Formation, Claystone Unit that equal with Kalibiuk Formation, Sandstone Unit that equal with Kalibiuk Formation, Terrace Deposits Unit and Alluvial Deposits Unit. Several geological structures are occurred in the research area that are a synclinal fold, namely Sidamulya Synclin, with east-west trend and a strike slip fault, namely Kaliwotan Fault, with sinistral movement. Geological history of the research area began during Late Miocene-Middle Pliocene time. In that time, research area was a basin. The geological history began with the deposition of Sandstone-Claystone Unit at Middle Neritic environment. Afterwards, during Middle Pliocene, Claystone Unit was deposited at Middle Neritic environment, conformably above Sandstone-Claystone Unit. During Late Pliocene, Sandstone Unit was deposited at Middle Neritic environment, conformably above Claystone Unit. Furthermore, during Late Pliocene-Pleistocene time, compression tectonics occurred and produced the folded structures and faulted structures so did uplift. The uplift produced Terrace Deposits Unit. In Late Holocene, Alluvial Deposits Unit was deposited, unconformably above the older unit. text
