Stratigraphy in the study area consist of six units, which are from old to young: Pra-Tertiary Marble Unit (Kuantan Formation) which is the bedrock of the study area, Conglomerate-sandstones unit (Brani Formation, part of Kulampi) which is Late Eocene alluvial fan deposits and deposited not conformity above Marble Unit, Sandstones-mudstone unit (Sawahlunto Formation) which is Late Eocene – Oligocene meander rivers deposits that deposited conformity above Conglomeratesandstones unit, Sandstones unit (Sawahtambang Formation) which is Oligocene – Early Miocene braided river – transition deposits that deposited conformity above Sandstones-mudstone unit, Marl Unit (Ombilin Formation) which is Early Miocene middle neritic-outer neritic deposits that deposited conformity above Sandstones unit, and Alluvial Unit which is recent deposits that deposited unconformity above Marl unit. Structural geology which are developed in the study area consist of thrust faults and folds relatively northwest – southeast trending with dextral strike-slip faults relatively north northeast – south southwest trending and sinistral strike-slip faults relatively northeast-southwest trending. text |
