Description
Summary:From the results of field observation and analysis of topographic maps and SRTM imagery, the study area can be divided into two geomorphological units, they are Folded Mountains Unit and Flood Plains Unit. Folded Mountains Unit can be divided into three geomorphological sub units, they are Synclinal Valley Sub Unit, Homoclinal Ridge Sub Unit, and Anticlinal Valley Sub Unit. The stratigraphy of the study area consists of a continuous series of deposits ranging from Miocene to Pliocene, which can be divided into six lithostratigraphic units, from older to younger are Tawun Formation, Ngrayong Formation, Bulu Formation, Wonocolo Formation, Ledok Formation, and Mundu Formation. The geological structures that were found in this study area are an E-W trending anticline. This fold is expected due to the influence of relatively N-S trending compression force. This fold occurs in Pliocene-Pleistocene, at the same time with Plio-Pleistocene uplifting.
