At first, wireless technology consumed high power and had narrow coverage. But in the development, they consume less power with more wide coverage area.Xbee is one of the result of the wireless development This final project wants to give an alternative to create a XBee connectivity to a microprocessor,in this case Parallax Propeller P8X32A, integrated with serial port which is reliable and easy. The design and implementation of the system are integration from several module. The modules are temperatur sensor LM35 module, ADC0831 Module for converting the analog data from sensor become digital data, Microcontroller Parallax Propeller P8X32A which is use for receiving the temperature data and sending the data to the tranceiver wireless XBee module, and MAX3232 module which is use for interconnecting serial port from Xbee module. After implemented, the system is tested for its function and reliability. The system can perform its main function as room temperature monitor. Its reliability is tested by sending the temperature data continuosly and the data is received correctly. And observation on the side of the receiver, it shows that more byte to be transmitted, the execution time for sending a byte is less. This can be caused by the unbalanced speed of the Propeller clock, serial transmision to XBee-PRO Module, and over-the-air transmission Based on the explanation above, it can be concluded that Xbee-PRO can connect to a microprocessor through serial port. text |
