Description
Summary:The study area is located in Cihara and surrounding areas, district Cihara, Lebak regency, Banten. Wide of research area is 20 km2 and located at an altitude of 0-205 m above sea level. In this research area there are three geomorphological units, namely: Folded Mountain Unit, Homoclin Ridge Unit, and Aluvial and Coastal Plain Unit. Geomorphological of the study area was controlled by geological structures such as fault and fold. Processes that occur now is weathering, erosion, and sedimentation. Study area geomorphic stages was young to mature geomorphic stages that characterized by river valleys shaped "V" and "U", horizontal and vertical erosion, and sediment along the major rivers. Stratigraphy of the study area was composed by three unofficial rock units, starting from the Middle until the late Eocene which quartz sandstone unit was deposited, and then in the Late Oligocene which Limestone and sandstone unit were deposited above it, and lastly deposited Alluvial Unit of Resen until now. Geological structure of the research area was a thrust fault that associated with flat folds and fault which was a tear faults. Another structure found in the study area was a horizontal fault (strike-slip fault). This structure was formed during the Oligo-Miocene deformation. The study area experienced tectonic compression that formed fold-thrust belt. Ascend fault was the main structure that worked in the research area, with complement structures such as shear fault and fold. Flat fault was a tear fault which is generated from the difference of accommodated of compression forces from each of the different blocks.
