Multiphase chopper unbalance is indicated by the presence of the harmonic component below Nfs, where N is the number of phases and fs is the switching frequency of each phase. It will be shown that the multiphase chopper unbalance can be caused by duty cycle and phase difference mismatch, tolerance and non-ideality of equivalent resistant and inductance value. For the source of unbalance that is caused by duty cycle and equivalent resistant, beside harmonic current problem, another problem of phase current unbalance will also occur. Analytical expressions of 1st order current harmonic component for two-phase chopper are derived. From this expression it will analyze the sensitivity of each source of unbalance current in twophase chopper. The analysis result of will be useful related to the unbalance current correction. text
