Description
Summary:Geomorphological study area can be divided into 4 units of geomorphology, namely: Complex Hills Lalemo, Matano Homoklin Hills, Matano Lalemo homoklim ridge, and Alluvial Plains Tolo Bay . Stratigraphic unit of the study area was divided into 4 unofficial rock units formed from the Cretaceous to Recent. These rock units sequentially from old to young is: ophiolite, Limestone, Conglomerate, and Alluvial. Geological structures developed in the research area is fracture and fault. The pattern of nickel distribution is influenced by morphology, more and more eastward his thick layer of laterite this is caused more and more to the east increasing gradient of concentration of nickel is strongly influenced by source rock, the more westerly direction will be higher nickel content, this is caused ophiolite rock is rich Ni content Nickel resources in the study area amounted to 661,518.4 tons.
