Summary: | Research area is divided into four geomorphological units, there are: Synclinal Ridge, Anticlinal Valley, Homoclinal Ridge, and Alluvial plain. Stratigraphy in research area is divided into four informal units, there are: Claystone Unit (Kalibiuk Formation), Sandstone Unit (Kalibiuk Formation), Tuffaceous Claystone Unit (Ligung Formation), and Alluvial Unit. Geological structures that affected in research area are fold and fault. Fold structures are divided into syncline and anticline with east-west trend. Right lateral strike-slip fault occured this area with NW-SE trend. Compression tectonic in this area caused all the rock unit elevated, folded, and faulted. Sandstone Unit of Kalibiuk Formation consist of sandstone intercalated with claystone with aged Late Pliocene-Pleistocene. Paleoecology analysis of this formation based on palynology, foraminifera, and mollusks study. Depositional environment fluctuation showed this area had one environment succession that developed during Late Pliocene-Pleistocene, there are Midlle Neritic and Inner Neritic. Paleoclimate fluctuation curve showed this area had two climate succession that developed during Late Pliocene-Pleistocene, there are warm and humid, cold and humid, warm and humid. |
