Summary: | There are a lot of ways to improve oil recovery have been developed nowadays. Water flood is commonly used as secondary recovery after primary recovery have been exhausted. In general, even by waterflooding there are still many oil left in reservoir as the result of bypassed or unswept oil. One method that is very popular among the petroleum industry practician is surfactant injection. Surfactant can improve the recovery of oil by reduces intefacial tension and cappilary pressure. This method commonly developed with some patterns, one of them is with 5-spot pattern. This work is connducted in laboratory by using a 15 cm x 15 cm x 2,5 cm 3D physical reservoir model used as artificial oil reservoir. This model have been produced before with 5-spot pattern waterflooding and surfactant injection method which reach out total oil recovery of 51.65%. This model will simulate the addition of two producing wells which was closed before, at the same time the previous producing well is closed and follow with another surfactant injection. The result indicated a higher rate and concentration of surfactant made a higher recovery. Therefore this work is to study the effect of additional producing well and surfactant injection on recovery factor. |
