Whereas, UGBO is type of blowout that was happened in sub-surface area and seeped into the surface or another layer outside the wellbore. The crater was caused by gas from formation that has seeped through cement's pores. Microstructures of the pores has been changed due to physical reaction caused by overburden pressure or varies chemical reaction caused by temperature. It caused micro fractures that made the porosity and the permeability of rocks became much bigger as its process. As the result, gas from formation seeped into the surface as crater.<p>Due that process, relief well was used to reach the main source of crater and kill it. The well was named after well-Y. Surface location of relief well-Y is 99,51m North East from well-X. Thus, this paper is going to discuss the relief well's process to overcome Underground Blowout (UGBO) and the result (killing and cementing process). text |
