Description
Summary:Traffic engineering is a way to increase telecommunication network quality. At packet-switched network, it can be used to optimize the use of network resources. It also can be used to anticipate the raising of data traffic caused by the increase of bandwidth demand. We also need traffic engineering to handle link or node failure by creating backup path. DAMOTE is a kind of traffic engineering algorithm which is able to do calculate load balancing. DAMOTE can solve OSPF problem, the unbalance of traffic. Furthermore, DAMOTE also has a capability of creating backup path. Toolbox for Traffic Engineering Methods (TOTEM Toolbox) is an opensource network simulator application. Network providers can use it to simulate many traffic engineering algorithms and observe the impacts. They also can observe the impact of link or node failure. At this research, we compare the results of OSPF and DAMOTE. The method that we use is simulation using TOTEM Toolbox. We simulate those algorithms over provider’s network with real data in order to reach operational needs.
