Summary: | Geomorphology at the research area consists of three different units which are, Alluvial Valley Plain Unit covered along Cipunegara river and Ciawitali river, Volcanic Steep Hills unit covered Surian Village and the hills in South West research area and Folded Undulated hills unit covered Jatimulya, Sari Asih and Balong area. The Research area consists of five unofficial stratigraphy units, with the order from old to young those stratigraphic units are The Claystone unit from early Pliocene age well exposed at Cipunegara and Cirendeu Rivers, Conglomerate unit from early Pleistocene age exposed at Sari Asih Area and Songgom Area, Breccia unit from middle Pleistocene age which covered the hills in South West research area, Tuff unit from late Pleistocene age well exposed at Desa Surian and recent Alluvial plain unit which covered Cipunegara and Ciawitali rivers. Syncline, Anticline and a pair of transform fault were formed in this research area. There are 3 syncline and 3 Anticline, which used to be one major syncline and one major anticline. Tectonic regime at the end of Pliocene age produced a pair of transform fault, which separates them into 3 different anticline and syncline. Transform fault, which was formed in the research area, is the reason for minor unmapped anticline formed around fault zone. According to geological condition in the research area, can be concluded, there are two existing tectonic regime in the research area. |
