Summary:This final assignment reports the investigation results of salt fog effects on epoksi resin outdoor insulator used in 20 kV distrbution line. The insulator were put in a test chamber with controlled humidity, temperature, and artificial pollution condition based on the IEC standard. AC 50 Hz voltage from 10 kV to 60 kV is applied on the insulator. The characteristics of leakage current flows on insulator surface were analyzed. In order to improve the diagnoostic tool and to deeply understand the leakage current on outdoor insulator, we will also proposed an <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> equivalent electrical circuit model for modelling leakage current phenomenon on epoksi resin insulator. In general, the proposed equivalent electrical circuit model <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> consists of resistor(s), capacitor(s), non-linear resistor(s), and arc model(s). These parameters will be used to simulate the leakage current waveforms of epoksi resin insulator under various salt fog conductivities. Both experimental and simulation results indicated that epoksi resin insulator can maintain its surface resistance <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> characteristics to suppress the magnitude and harmonic content of leakage current and increased the flashover voltage under various artificially simulated pollution. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The low leakage current corresponds with high surface resistance which indicates high quality of insulator under salt fog condition. These final assignment results <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> will be basis of application epoksi resin insulator under polluted condition, especially in Indonesia.
