Based on the characteristic of meandering river with U-shaped lley, the study area is counted to old geomorphic phase with trellis pattern. Four major stratigraphic units can be recognized which deposited since Middle Miocene up to Early Pliocene. Those are from the old to the young: Mudstone-Sandstone unit of Halang Formation, Sandstone-Mudstone unit of Halang Formation, Volcanic Breccia unit of Kumbang Formation, and Aluviall Plain. Geological structure which had developed in the study area is mainly controlled by NW-SE trending thrust fault. Tear faults were also found with relatively NESW trend as the fault orientation. text
