Description
Summary:Study area is located at Jemasih, Ketanggungan Subdistrict, Brebes District, Central Java, covering ±17 km2 (3,6 km x 4,68 km). Its aim is to study and reconstruct geological setting including lithology, structure, and morphology, in order to know the geological history in general and land use development. Geological mapping method is used along with some softwares as tools to process data. Geomorphological units in the research area are Rambatan Anticlinal Flank Ridge Unit, Pasir Bedil Homoclinal Ridge Unit, Ciruntuh Homoclinal Hills Unit, Karanganyar Homoclinal Valley Unit, and Aluvial Plain Unit. Lithostratigraphic units from old to young are Limestone-Claystone Unit wich belongs to Rambatan Formation, Sandstone-Claystone Unit wich belongs to Halang Formation, Claystone Unit wich belongs to Tapak Formation and Aluvial Deposit Unit which is deposited uncoformably above all other older units. Geological structures are thrust fault and strike-slip fault. Land use study in the study area is using Analytical Hierarchy Process and Geographical Information System. Those are used to process five parameters which are lithology, morphology, land slope, land wetness, and land coverage. Result of the study can be used as land use evaluation especially for settlement land use.
