| Summary: | Estimation of abnormal pressure zone has an important role in drilling operation at oil and gas wells. An early detection of abnormal pressure zone could minimize the drilling cost and prevent problems the problems that might happen in drilling operation. The method used in estimating the abnormal pressure zone during the drilling is by analyzing the mud logging. However, there are other methods to obtain a more accurate formation-pressure measurement when the drilling operation stops. One of them is the acoustic log method, and based on log at shale layer. The method developed at this study is based on compaction method, where porosity varies exponentially to the vertical stress. |
