| Summary: | Nowadays, one thing that being focused in any sector relates with an effort to build sustainable development. This sustainable concept is felt important in transportation as a sector that influences regional development. Sustainable transport system in regional is measured by some certain indicators. At this time there isn't any standard indicator that can be used to evaluate the degree of sustainable transportation. So, this study is trying to see the indicator that can be used to evaluate the degree of sustainable transportation and it's implementation in Soreang. The focused of this study is more emphasized at sustainable transportation in economic aspect. It based on a different orientation between modern and developing country in looking at sustainable development. Sustainable development concept of modern country is oriented to environmental conservation. While the developing country still focuses onto fulfill the basic needs. So the consideration of economy and society welfare still has high priority than environmental conservation. It's also reflected in transportation sector. <p>Sustainable transportation is developing city with sustainable transportation system in three aspects : environment, economy and social without inflicting the next generation. Sustainable transportation in economic aspect is reached transportation, operate efficiently, provide some alternatives transport mode, and support economic growth, and able to guarantee the fulfill of transportation cost through load of proper cost for transport users. Sustainable transportation indicator based on five main categories : the characteristic of economic society, supply demand, accessibility, transport activity and transport cost. <p>Based on this study it's concluded that transport performance in Soreang hasn't had a good performance and aimed to sustainable concept yet. The aimed of sustainable transportation in economic sector is seemed in an easy access to basic services, land use mix, and increase of economic society. While, bad performance is seemed at that facility and condition of transport infrastructure, confuse of transport mode, highway network and station.<p>Recommendations that can be given for transport system in Soreang in building sustainable transportation in economic aspect are : in economic society, government needs to take a part in supporting industrial development as basic sector that growing in Soreang. If we see from transport facility and infrastructure condition, it can be done by arranging transport route, broken road's repair, and rearranging available station. While in accessibility aspect, the government needs to be consistent to keep pointing at the use of mixing land. <br />
