Description
Summary:Customers voice telephony services USO in Eastern Indonesia need communicate with others widely so interconnection with other telecommunication operators is something that must been done. The other telecommunication operator use Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) which use SS7 signaling, meanwhile USO in Eastern Indonesia use IP system which use SIP signaling. Therefore it is a need to do some adjustment for interconnection. In this final task, carried out the study and planning of voice telephony service interconnection between the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) with Signaling System No.7 (SS7). Interconnection planning is done by mapping the SIP to SS7. Mapping is done by seeing the possibilities of messages send by the SIP and the SS7, and mapping the parameters of the Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) User Part (ISUP) of SS7 into SIP header. To make a call from the PSTN network into the SIP network, SIP elements such as proxy servers must make routing decisions based on ISUP criteria such as called party number.

There is some new addition such as authentication, authorization, accounting, balance display, duration display, addition to SIP timer T1 to 750 ms which affect other timer in SIP. SIP message size that being send is 550 byte. The size of one voice channel in SIP is 11,8 kbps, in SS7 is 64 kbps and for the signaling channel one E1 is equal to two SIP.
