Description
Summary:Rindang field is one of oil field in the Central Sumatra Basin and has operated by PT Chevron Pacific Indonesia since 1993. Rindang Field has some reservoir target which produced oil, one of them is Sandstone A reservoir (Menggala Formation) in Early Miocene age. This interval have a marginal production economically so this research purposed to redefine geometry and quality of reservoir based on 3D seismic interpretation and knowing volume of oil in place based on petrophysics analysis. This research use an core and log data as a primary data. Combination of those data hopefully can define rock properties to determine depositional environment which affect geometry and quality reservoir of research target. Based on core and electrofacies interpretation, research target was located on transision area especially estuarine channel facies which can be observed on isopach map. Then the result of petrophysics analysis shown that on research target has volume of shale 16-59%, effective porosity 1-15%, total water saturation 45-90%, and irreducible water saturation 28-98%. The influenced of reservoir heterogenity is quite significant in hydrocarbon volume calculation such as the differences of OWC for each well and determining closure area which the results is 18 MMSTB for total water saturation input and 23 MMSTB for irreducible water saturation.
