The stratigraphy of study area included of three official formations: Gumai Formation, Pasumah Formation, and Young Volcanic. Unofficially, study area could be divided into five stratigraphycal units: Sandstone Unit, Claystone Unit, Tuff Unit, Volcanic Breccia Unit, and Colluvium and Alluvium Unit. Structures of study area included homocline with trend of strike NNE-SSW, left slip fault, and right slip fault with main forces from NNW-SSE and NNE-SSW. The geological history started from the sedimentation of Sandstone Unit in deep marine environtment in the end of Lower Miocene; this process then followed by sedimentation of Claystone Unit in the same environtment in the end of Lower Miocene - early of Middle Miocene. After that, tectonic phase was happened in Plio-Pleistocene and formed structures such as homocline, Tanjung Sirih Fault, Pulau Pinang Fault, and Mulak Fault. In Pleistocene the environtment was changed to be terrestrial and the next unit, Tuff Unit, was sedimented unconformably overlied the older units. Then unconformably Volcanic Breccia Unit was sedimented on the older units. The youngest and still on going in sedimentation process is Colluvial and Alluvial Sediments Unit. text
