Description
Summary:Geomorphological units in the research area are divided into two units, which are Folded Ridge Units and Terrace Units. The research area is divided into five unofficial units from the oldest to the youngest in age, which are Sandstone unit, Marl unit, Limestone unit, Terrace unit and Alluvial Unit. Geological structures which occurred in the research area are north-south oriented fold, two minor strike slip faults with orientations of northwest- outheast and northeastsouthwest. Geological history of the research area began in Tertiary with the development of a basin which was later known as Kendeng Zone, during the Middle Miocene there was a deposition of sandstone of Kendeng Formation unit in inner neritik, which was followed by clay of Kalibeng Formation and limestone of Klitik Member units during the Late Miocene until Early Pliocene. Then a tectonic compression happened during Early Pleistocene with trend north – south which caused a north - south oriented fold which was followed by the development of strike slip fault in the surrounding.
