Description
Summary:The geomorphologic unit of the study area is divided into three units, those are Folded Mountain Unit, and Volcanical Plain Unit. The stratigraphic unit of this study area is divided into four units based on the illegitimate unit of lithostratigraphy that is mentioned in respectively from the oldest up to the youngest, those are Sandstone Unit, Claystone-Siltstone Unit which is interfingered with Limestone Unit and Volcanic Breccia Unit. The geological structures that was found in this study area are fold and fault. The axis orientation of the fold is relatively West-East. The faults in the study area are Strike slip faults Cibungur, Hegarmanah, Bojongkembar and Sungapan, and Reverse Fault Batununggal. There are 2 massive cycles based on pathway B stratigraphic cross section measurement, which are cycle 1 and cycle 2. In the other hand, there is 1 massive in pathway B which is cycle 3. Pathway A has another 5 small cycles and pathway B has another 2 small cycle. Those cycles characterize thinning upward succession so that can interpretate the flow energy which is has tight flow energy in the early sedimentation that gradually weaker in the end of sedimentation. There 2 types of sedimentation, which are channel and flood plain. There are also amalagamated layers. Based on those characterizations can be concluded that this research area was deposited with braided river system.
