Composite slab concrete metal deck is a fusion between the sheet metal deck with the concrete, where this structure is one of the development in civil engineering materials and structure elements. In composite slab concrete-metal deck system, placing concrete on the top metal deck sheet, in other words the metal deck sheet as formwork for concrete slab. On the surface of metal deck sheet where concrete is there are a elements called embossment, the elements which can reduce slip between concrete and sheet metal deck. Large or small slip that occurs is influenced by the profile metal deck and embossment type. Because there are many variations of profile metal deck and embossment type, then the test should be performed on a composite slab with the new type of a metal deck produced. Testing done with load simply support composite slab using two vertical concentrated loads. From this test can be known composite slab behavior, maximum load, and then simulation designing can be done for some type of structure (statically determinate structure and statically indeterminate structure). In the simulation designing there are two design methods, for the positive moment region use methods based on composite slab behavior from testing results. Design for negative moment region (at support region) used the conventional reinforced concrete structure theory. The equation obtained from design simulation use to determine design load. From the equation can be discovered limit that must be met in determining design load. The equations are general, it can be used when material properties and geometry are different with sample which used in this research. |
