Summary: | This research area formed as a hills limited by a coastal in the south. Highest elevation in the research area around 550 m above sea level and the lowest elevation 0 m above sea level. Morphology of the research area then classified in to four geomorphology units those are Homoclinal Ridge, Karst Hills, Fluvial Plain, and Coastal Plain. Stratigraphy of this research area consist of five lithology units sorted from the oldest are Dolomitized Limestone Unit, Calsilutite Unit, Siltstone Unit, Calcarenite Limestone Unit and Coastal Aluvial Unit. Geological structure developing in the research area consist of fold and fault which developing in to ENE-WSW and WNW-SSE deformation pattern Geological history of research area begin at Jurassic time which has start with Dolomitized Limestone Unit sedimentation and then lie conformably over it Calsilutite Limestone Unit which ages Cretaceous. In the Early Miocene, Buton Island had collided with Muna Island (Sulawesi) and made Mesozoikum sedimentation (Dolomitized Limestone Unit and Calsilutite Limestone Unit) uplifted and forming an ENE-WSW structure pattern. On the Late Miocene-Early Pliocene deposited Siltstone Unit, Calcarenite Limestone Unit lie unconformably over Calsilutite Unit. The relationship of Siltstone Unit and Calcarenite Limestone Unit interpreted as an interfingering. On the Pliocene occur second collision between Buton Island and Tukangbesi Island and forming WNW-SSE deformation pattern in the research area. |
