Description
Summary:Indonesia is an archipelagic country. Approximately two-thirds of these country areas are oceans. Besides the sea of Indonesia also has much uniqueness, one of its uniqueness is the diversity of the underwater topography of the existing region of Indonesia. The potency of the deep sea, are now widely recognized by researchers. INDEX-SATAL 2010 is one of the researches conducted to improve knowledge of the deep sea, including hydrothermal vent, which one of the many interesting phenomena that exist in the deep sea. Multibeam echosounder is one of the tools that are often used during deep-sea research. Multibeam echosounder has a good ability to show a representative shape from the seabed, thus providing better understanding of the phenomenon of the seabed. Survey mapping with a multibeam echosounder is basically done in several stages, namely planning and preparation, execution, data processing, and presentation.Multibeam Benefits from the mapping using multibeam echosounder can support deep-sea research. Either directly or indirectly. The benefits include: ship navigation, submersible navigation, the research of the earth plate movement, the movement of ocean currents, and the research of the water column.
