Summary: | In the production of oil and gas, wellhead plays an important role, as it intended to take over the wellhead control system in cases where the oil and gas production wells have failures. Failure issues at the wellhead can be minimized by installing a Safety Shutdown System. The Safety Shutdown System is a procedure to shut down the wellhead operating safely during a problem. Therefore, a good Safety Shutdown System design is necessary in order to avoid a blow out in the wells. Signal Interpreted Petri Net (SIPN) is and approach to deal with a discrete system that provides information about the structure and dynamic behavior of the system being modeled. SIPN method aims to analyze a discrete even system before implementation in the field. Safety Shutdown System modeling with SIPN can minimize design time and the failures of designed safety systems. SIPN modeling starts with identifying all the inputs and outputs of the system, and then specifies the logic input for each transition and the output list at each place. After that the modeling is followed by construction and analysis transparancies. The results of the modeling analysis shows that the designed system satisfies the safety properties, boundedness, liveness, reachability and a transparency value of 0.86 out of scale 1. This showed that the system is transparent. After SIPN modeling is completed, it is then by simulating in a ladder diagram which is translated from the SIPN modeling. The simulation results with the ladder diagram directly translated from the logic diagram and translated through SIPN, showed slightly different results as there are ideal assumptions in the modeling SIPN. |
